Care Instructions for Felted Wool Skirts

SPOT CLEAN 

Spot cleaning is recommended until washing is necessary.  A lightly soaped damp cloth or spong cleans spots easily. 

The skirts are worn outside of clothing for warmth like a coat or wool scarf and can be washed with similar frequency. 

Wool pills where there is friction and are easily removed by clipping.  For tough pills lift and snip.

HAND WASH ONLY

Hand wash in cold water with a small amount of mild soap.  Rinse in cold water. 

Machine washing, even on the most delicate cycle, will further felt and shrink the wool as this is part of the felting process. Water temperature changes, excess soap and agitation also felt wool creating shrinkage.

Remove Excess Water:
Rolling and pressing in a towel will remove excess water.  
Salad spinners are an easy and effective way of removing excess water.

RESHAPE & HANG DRY

You can be creative in Reshaping as felted wool stretches easily and will keep the formed shape upon drying.  Keeping in mind that wool shrinks slightly in drying.

To add more dance to the skirt, gently stretch the full width of the bottom of the skirt.

For an A-line shape stretch evenly the height and width of the skirt to your desired size.
